Max’s senior session had a little bit of everything, which is exactly what I like about senior photography. The goal isn’t to make every senior fit into the same session. It’s to build the session around who they are.
For Max, that meant mixing classic senior portraits with football and creating images that felt like him.
We started with a few casual looks. From there, we switched gears and brought his football side into the session.
For Max’s football senior pictures, I wanted to go beyond the standard uniform photos.
We photographed in the weight room using the equipment and red gels to create a gritty look, then headed out to the football field as the sun started dropping. Stadium lights, a football, his jersey, and a Wisconsin sunset gave us plenty to work with.
Then Max had another idea.
He wanted a photo sitting on top of the goalpost.
That one was completely his idea. My main contribution was hoping he didn’t get injured during his senior session.
Thankfully, Max got his goalpost picture and everyone made it home in one piece.
One of the things I hear from parents and seniors is that they want senior pictures that don’t all look the same.
That’s especially true for athletes.
You can include football, volleyball, baseball, dance, music, cars, or another part of your senior year without making the entire session about that one activity. Max’s session is a good example. We created traditional portraits, casual images, football photos, gym portraits, and sunset images all in the same senior session.
The result is a gallery that shows several sides of his senior year instead of one look repeated 50 times.
If you’re looking for senior pictures in Green Bay, De Pere, Suamico, Howard, Ashwaubenon, or Northeast Wisconsin, sessions with Frievalt Photography can be built around your senior’s interests.
For athletes, that can include their football field, gym, court, stadium, uniform, sports equipment, or other locations connected to their high school experience.
The goal is simple: create senior pictures that actually feel like the person in them.
And if your senior decides climbing a goalpost needs to be part of that plan, apparently we can discuss that too.
Can sports be included in a senior photography session?
Yes. Senior sessions can include sports, uniforms, equipment, hobbies, vehicles, and locations that are part of the senior’s high school experience.
Can senior pictures be taken at a football field or high school stadium?
Yes, when access to the location is available. Football fields, stadiums, gyms, and courts can all be incorporated into an athlete’s senior session.
